How we work

How we take an idea to a product

Every project goes through the same four stages. Each stage ends with something you can review, so you can see progress and change direction early if you need to.

  1. 01

    Discover

We start by understanding your business, your users and the constraints you work within. Together we agree the goals, the scope and how success will be measured.

    • Workshops and interviews
    • Requirements and priorities
    • Roadmap and estimate
  2. 02

    Design

We design the architecture and the user experience, and test the main ideas with prototypes before any production code is written.

    • Solution architecture
    • UX and interface design
    • Clickable prototypes
  3. 03

    Build

We build in short cycles and show you working software at the end of each one, so progress is visible throughout the project.

    • Short delivery cycles
    • Automated testing
    • Regular demos
  4. 04

    Launch and support

We release carefully and monitor the system once it is live. After that, we either hand over to your team with full documentation or continue to support it.

    • Deployment pipelines and monitoring
    • Documentation and handover
    • Ongoing support

Why ILP Solutions

How we work with clients

A system is only useful if it solves the right problem and keeps working after launch. These are the principles we follow on every project.

About us

Experienced people do the work

The people you speak to at the start are the same people who design and build your system.

We work with your team

We fit around your tools and processes and keep you informed throughout, so there are no surprises at the end.

Security from the start

Security, privacy and resilience are part of the design, rather than something added after the system is built.

Systems that can grow

We build on cloud services and test thoroughly, so a system can take on more users and data without a rewrite.

You own the work

The code, infrastructure and data are yours. There is no lock-in, and nothing is held back at handover.

Plain English

Updates, estimates and documentation are written so that non-technical stakeholders can follow them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not covered here, get in touch.

What kinds of organisations do you work with?

Startups testing a new product, growing businesses updating their systems, and larger organisations that need extra specialist capacity. If you have a technology problem, we are happy to talk it through.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on the scope, so we do not publish a price list. After an initial conversation we send a proposal with an itemised cost. If the budget is tight, we can split the work into phases.

How long does a typical project take?

A website proof of concept takes about a week. Larger platforms take two to five months depending on the scope, and are delivered in phases.

Can you work with our existing systems and team?

Yes. Most of our projects involve connecting to existing systems and data, and working closely with in-house staff. We adapt to the way your team already works.

Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do. Once the work is complete and paid for, the code, designs and documentation belong to you, and your team receives everything needed to run and change them.

Do you provide support after launch?

Yes. We offer ongoing support and maintenance, or a documented handover if you would rather manage the system in-house.

Have an idea you want to turn into a product?

Tell us what you are trying to achieve. We will reply to arrange a call and give you an honest view of how we can help. There is no obligation.
